AWWW.... I wish MY sister would do a portrait of me... But shes a cunt. and la-di-da

Uhmmmm. You did a VERY good job capturing M. I could tell who it was right away even from the thumbnail, which is something alot of artists (espech me) cannot do. Also you did a 100 percent awesome job with the eyes and hair. 1fucking00.

I also love the concept, I feel like the overall composition really captures M's personality, so even people who don't know her can kind of get a feel for who she is.

Depth aside, since I haven't seen the original. Some critique would be working on blending the shading (not sure what medium you used). I think if you do that it will help M stand out from the background.

If you want to do a realistic portrait, try as much as possible to avoid making dark lines, especially the inside of the subject. Practice pencil pressure and if you want get a blend stick. Usually if you can get it down you don't even need that. Also if you darken her clothes to match her hair it will help add balance to the contrast of the subject.

I'd go on about the colour but you said the scanner destroyed it. So I dunno, I'll have to see the real deal before I nitpick on that.

I'm not really a huge fan of the frame, but I could see it's potential if you cleaned up the lines a bit and made the top as wide as the bottom it would look a little bit less hastily done.

But yeaaahhhh aside from that holyshit I love it!!!! M is an internet celebrity!

aww thanks ulie, it helps me a lot :D

to be honest my failure on shading is blamed for crappy paper so even if I used a blending stick it would tear it! but I should get one of those anyway

yes Meghan will become famous through the internet and her awesome black hair

I'll do a portrait of you (but I can't guarantee it being good D: this was a spur of the moment kinda drawing)

Ah, makes sense. it seemed to have texture to it and my first thoguht was crayon cause wax does that- but oil pastels make sense :P mmm charcoal. thats one art medium that i dont miss all over my clothing XP it made the shading look amazing though~ <3

Scanners tend to to ruin the colr or shading of a pic. I can see what you wanted though.
I like it. I think the shading is better than we see because of the scanner.
